It is situated between narrow curves and dense vegetation. Access is directly off the highway, with a small pull-off area for parking. Parking is very limited, typically accommodating only 3-4 cars, so visitors may need to wait or be prepared for a quick stop. Signage is minimal. There are no restrooms, maintained trails, or other facilities at the lookout. Most visits are short, lasting about 5-10 minutes, making it a quick stop rather than an anchor activity. There are no fees or permits required. Visiting early morning is recommended to avoid crowds due to limited parking.

Safety and cautions

Visitors should be mindful of safety and the environment. It is important to stay within designated areas, watch your footing, and avoid climbing over barriers. The Road to Hana itself is winding and requires cautious driving. Parking is limited and drivers should be patient and careful when pulling off the highway. Never block the gated private road to the left of the parking area. As with many stops on the Road to Hana, "smash and grabs" are common, so valuables should never be left unattended in vehicles. Weather conditions can change quickly in East Maui, so checking forecasts is advisable for optimal viewing. Visitors should practice Leave No Trace principles and pack out anything they bring.
